CTIC and the Ayuntamiento de Langreo met to review the progress of waste management and sustainability and outline next steps for 2025.
On the 15th of January, Fundación CTIC Centro Tecnológico (CTIC) and the Ayuntamiento de Langreo had a bilateral meeting in Langreo to review the progress of the GINNGER project. Most importantly, they focused on waste management and sustainability improvements, and on outlining the next steps to be taken in the first quarter of 2025.
Review of Year One Progress
The meeting began with a thorough review of the project’s first year. Both CTIC and the Ayuntamiento de Langreo assessed the achievements in waste management practices and the advancements made in sustainability initiatives. They discussed key technological solutions implemented during the first year, with a particular focus on their impact on local communities and the improvements seen in waste handling and resource management.

Next Steps for Q1 2025
Looking forward, the partners identified several key actions to be undertaken in the first quarter of 2025. The discussion emphasised the need to integrate advanced technological solutions aimed at further improving waste management systems. Specifically, they explored the potential implementation of smart waste sorting systems, data-driven sustainability programs, and other innovative technologies to optimise the processes and further benefit the community.
Strengthening Collaboration and Commitment
A significant outcome of the meeting was the strengthening of the joint commitment between CTIC, GNF, and the Ayuntamiento de Langreo to advancing the project. All parties reiterated their dedication to working together to use technological solutions for the betterment of the local community.
