The GINNGER project presents new approaches to shape the next generation of energy systems.
GINNGER, coordinated by CIRCE, recently participated in GENERA, presenting advanced technologies aimed at reducing risks, optimising costs, and enhancing the efficiency and safety of energy projects in today’s demanding environment. Among the innovations highlighted were developments in:
- Energy storage solutions
- Digitalisation and smart operation
- Industrial cybersecurity
- Testing and validation
- Circular economy and second-life applications of assets
- Accredited calibration of pyranometers
During the event, CIRCE hosted a “CIRCE Talk + Coffee” series, offering short technical talks that addressed key challenges in the renewable energy sector. These sessions focused on application cases in renewable energy integration and smart services for asset operation (energy communities, self-consumption, and storage), digitalisation, smart urban planning, and energy flexibility.
Moreover, CIRCE presented its approach to designing and fine-tuning control systems for renewable generation, ensuring that the behaviour of these resources is aligned with current and future grid connection requirements. The sessions also showcased how these solutions are validated in the HIL-PPC laboratory and highlighted the evolution projects already underway to sustain continued innovation in this field.
The exchanges created opportunities for collaboration and shared insights on improving efficiency, reliability, and decision-making capabilities in renewable energy projects.
