We caught up with Luigia to hear more about her experience and the vision behind GINNGER:
Q: Luigia, tell us a little bit about your experience presenting at the Smart Energy Cluster Workshop yesterday.
Luigia D’Alessandro: “It was fantastic! The energy in the room was contagious, and it felt like we were all on the same page, ready to drive real change. Presenting GINNGER, a project that aims to empower neighborhoods and promote sustainability through innovation, was such a good opportunity. I’m grateful to be part of this amazing Cluster and to see how these collaborations can accelerate the transition to smarter, more sustainable energy solutions.”
Q: What makes GINNGER stand out in the smart energy sector?
Luigia D’Alessandro: “GINNGER is all about transforming neighborhoods, not just in terms of energy. It’s about how people come together to co-create solutions. We are currently in the testing and validation phase. We’re actively testing our co-creation methodology through local workshops across all our pilot cities. In fact, the goal is to gather real input from local communities to refine our approach and make sure it truly fits their needs.”
Q: How does GINNGER align with the goals of the Smart Energy Cluster?
Luigia D’Alessandro: “The Cluster is all about innovation and sustainability, which aligns perfectly with GINNGER’s mission. Being part of this community means we’re able to collaborate with like-minded professionals and bring our ideas to life faster. The collective knowledge and drive here are incredible. Together, we can make a huge impact on the future of energy and community development.”
Q: What’s next for GINNGER and your team?
Luigia D’Alessandro: “We’re excited to explore synergies with other members of the Cluster. We look forward to strengthening our dissemination activities together. In addition, we’re keen to continue testing and refining our methodology, engaging with local communities to ensure we’re creating the most effective solutions. Collaboration is key. Therefore, we’re looking forward to working with others who are passionate about the future of energy!”
